We had a great weekend for the 2010 Irish Intervarsities. They were held in Castlegregory, Co. Kerry, on the 27th and 28th March. UL hosted the spectacularly well organized event, with t-shirts, goody bags, a tasty bbq, a UV paint 90's night out, and, of course, races... UL took the win in the end, but these events are more about the fun I think. They also organized collection buckets that were shook until they were filled up (not sure how much but I remember being impressed) The money went to the RNLI and to Cancer Care research. Anyway cheers to everyone who contributed! Of course the event could not have been run without Jamie Knox Watersports, and Ulster Bank.
Here's a short video I put together of the weekend:
Some photos:
A showing of dedication from Gav Pitcher, who, among others, lopped off their curls for charity
The band were so good I wanted to join them
A few of these retro rigs took their pride of place on the water over the weekend aswel!
The gang..salt encrusted and hungover but happy!
Nooooo wind
I'm going to put my order in now for wind and swell next year just to make sure...parties have a lot to live up to though!
